I've always wondered about Rock, Paper, Scissors; if you don't already know it, it's a game we used to play as kids; two players shake their fists in the air then form a shape; closed fist = rock, open palm = paper, and extending two fingers = scissors.
Depending on which you choose, you could lose or win: rock beats scissors (because you can supposedly break the scissors with the rock), scissors beat paper (because you can supposedly cut the paper with scissors), and paper beats rock (because supposedly, erm, not sure why). Anyhow, through the years, i've always wondered how paper beats rock, and it seems I wasn't the only one. I just found this online, someone seems pretty worked out about it (a reasonable level of profanity follows, so proceed with caution) :

Man, here in Japan, this game is taken to a whole other level. It's a way of life, and there are "strategies" and books on how to win this game. It's something I'll never fully understand.
On another note, I heard that in Indonesia, they have a version of the game that involves ants and elephants (but I can't remember the last one). To each his own.
Now, I'm going to sound old, but I remember when all we had were these games to play in school because we didn't have Gameboy or Game Gear...or cell phones
we used to play Rock/paper/Scissors
and 'pencil break'.
hehe, I'm not that old but I'd say that I still can remember this game. I used to choose rock 'cause I knew it usually wins, still, not always.
It's not played that much anymore.
lol, he IS worked up about it! but i guess u can always find a 'loophole' in any game u play. cuz some bored dude or gal sat once, created those little games & put up their own rules!
but hey, u can always make ur own rules right! like this guy here.
