A man is sitting in bed. He makes a phonecall, says nothing, and then goes to sleep. What was the point of the call?

the last question states he needed to do this to sleep... so... not voicemail..
He wasn't sure where his mobile was, so he called his own number to check...he found out that it was near him, only he didn't spot it before, I suppose, so he went to sleep?

CLUE: ok think; he needs to make the call to go to sleep, meaning something is stopping him from sleeping. What could stop a person from sleeping?
he makes the call and lets the phone hanging so no one would call him? like he was bothered a lot by the ringing of the phone, hence the beginning of the puzzle 'a man is sitting in bed'
ok, i'm just making some wild guesses here and I really want to know the answer... someone please!
no.. sometimes u can set up a wake up call by punching in the numbers to the time you want to wake up.. although i believe this qualifies as an answer, fine.. i'll go with the clues u gave :P
cant sleep means there's some noise.. if it's noise caused by the hotel, he'd call the reception and complain.. since he didnt speak, means it's 'noise' caused by another hotel guest.. and i guess he was bugging them by calling their room in order to stop the noise?
he woke up the guy next door cuz he was snoring?

the next door guest was snoring, so he couldn't sleep. He dialled the number of the room next door, woke up the guy (which made him stop snoring), hung up and went to sleep.
WOW... Who could have guessed that answer.. Good one Bro. I love these puzzles, they put your mind in over-drive, just make sure you have a v6 to handle the load.
