One World, One Dream..
And so China hosts the 2008 Olympics, and creates what is supposedly a utopia for it's visitors... But in reality...
Hmm.. Reminds me of a few situations closer to home...
It is indeed really sad. I was watching this documentary special on Tv abuot how police forces were forcing people out of their properties during the dead of the night as to use their piece of land to "benifit" the olympic games. It is really rather worrying that some protestors are also beinj jailed and ejected from the city for just stating the obvious....
I dont blame the Chinese Officials , its those idiots from IOC who alloted them the 2008 games, they should be put to some trial for making ordinary people lives miserable .
Either way i skipped this Olympics ! This one for Tibet .
You know, this doesn't have directly to do with your post or point but I have found that the Beijing Olympics in the Western media (including me having been in N America last 3 weeks) has been maligned over and over again.
Whether it's pollution cover-ups, low interest in the game or other minuscule articles - news stations have been slamming China on this event.
Can the world not concentrate on the main thing - The Olympics.
At the end of the day, everyone will need to be thankful that the cheap products in their country is a result of low costing in China.
I don't usually moderate comments, but recently i've been getting a ton of "buy viagra" "check out this search site" "buy casino chips online" related comment spam, so the moderation is back on. Don't take it personally.
Sad wallah..
ReplyDeleteI think its the same everywhere.

ReplyDeleteI dont know when it's the time to stop seeing these sights. That is horrible!!
ReplyDeleteWhy dies China even bother? All cities have poor neighborhoods. It's not like anybody would think less of them for having poor people.
ReplyDeleteit's the same all over the world. Soon after the Olympics finish, all people will forget about China, and focus on other things...
