Well, that's because you suck at photography. Unfortunately for her, Butterfly is one of those people, and the other day at the Fikr6 conference, she asked me about how I manage to take nice (well, reasonable) photos. With the fact that I was already considering this, i've decided to write up a basic photography guide for all you people out there with bad shooting skills.
Before I do, however, i'll post a few examples of the kind of shots you should be able to make after you read my guides (and after years and years of practice as well as thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment, of course). Take a look at these photos, courtesy of EarthShots (a daily updated photo site). Don't just look at them quickly; take your time, notice the color, the detail, textures and so on (click for larger size):
Beautiful autumn red leaves
A chipmunk with a mouthful
Boatman on the river; Bangladesh
Hellhole in Germany Valley, WV
Taken in Cambodia, after the wet season overflowed and turned the village roads into rivers
After the snow
Going home...
This is scary; looks like the snake is about to jump out of the photo at you..
Rising Swan...
Solar Eclipse in Kurukshetra
There are so many more I want to post, but i've decided to limit them to ten. Hope you enjoyed them.

ReplyDeletei think anyone can take amazing pictures. its all about the venue and the timing.
If I will be able to take breathtaking shots like these, then hurry up with the photography guide :P
ReplyDeleteI remember Mahmood saying that in order to be a good photographer, you need to have a good eye and the rest (the technical skills) is easy to be taken care of. Well, may be I have a good eye and all what I need is the technical part of it :)
Writing and photography goes hand in hand and I want to be good at both.
wow those all make my pictures look so bad!!
ReplyDeleteoh, and thank you for linking to my site to present me as an example (Do you suck in photography?) .. I am just kidding ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous now. Why can't I pull it off?
